BIOGRAPHY
The Australian landscape. Vast, calm, relentless, harsh, nourishing. Distinctly Australian and like no other. A constant source of inspiration.
Born and raised in Sydney, Jennifer draws inspiration from the contrasting beauty of her home - the rugged brush amidst the open ocean on the Northern Beaches through to the pristine pools of Bondi Beach.
Making a familiar landscape unfamiliar and new is what weaves through Jennifer’s work. A feeling of movement in gestural brushstrokes, depth in layering and density of colour and an overwhelming feeling of calm and transporting akin to colour-field methods inform her work. Simplicity is always key.
Her recent pop-up gallery in Manly’s historic Fairy Bower building has seen Jennifer explore a new colour palette of burnt siennas and gum greens with her Bush series while injecting energy into her iconic coastal series celebrating beautiful places that evoke deep memories with so many.
